My FaceBook group is growing nicely and as topics are posted the discussions have begun to take shape. I can tell you it has been very interesting and enlightening to read and learn from my friends and peers. I’m excited by the opportunity to mentor them and hopefully shift a paradigm or two as we move along.

In a recent topic posting I asked the question “What blocks you, as a speaker, from earning more passive income?”

Some of the thoughts shared include: the shifting sands of the economy, the consumers, competition in my area, and my colleagues. Can I be frank and say that it is truly none of these that prevents one from earning a passive income as a speaker?

In fact as I considered those thoughts – I recalled a quote from Anthony Robbins who once said “That’s all B.S.” (Belief Systems)

The economy, competition, peers and colleagues and the consumers themselves do not prevent a speakerĀ  from having a passive income based business. If anything, they provide the impetus to execute a strategy that transforms one’s speaking business from platform based to one built on passive income.

Another well reasoned response was that time was a barrier; I would guess that to mean a lack of time to focus on passive income as a strategy was the real issue. This member also said that a lack of knowledge as to how to earn income passively was a big block. Now were talking…

You see, in any industry, in any career, we won’t all do extraordinary things. However, earning a passive income as a speaker is not extraordinary. It is ordinary – it is simply a process. Not much different than baking a cake. If you have a recipe it’s easy. Without a recipe, it can be much more difficult.

On a recent search of the industry’s preeminent trade journal and its archives I found about 5 resources intended to help speakers earn more passive income. Many of the “instructors” are known for entirely different material, and so they were sharing their story and their experiences. All well and good, but still not a “recipe”.

Over the coming months – my group will have the recipe. For today, let me give you the first ingredient. It is relationship. In every talk you’ve ever given, you touched someone’s life. At least one. With a little effort you could have built a relationship with that person. Perhaps you did and have maintained it. But that was one person in a somewhat small audience.

Now consider that there are more than 6 billion people on the planet. SIX BILLION. A small handful of the world’s population is all you need to have relationships with to provide you with an abundant passive income. I’ll show you how you do that, step-by-step. Stay tuned!
