Speakers Marketing Questions (and some answers)
When I released my new report last week, I must have struck a nerve. There seems to be some real excitement building over the release of my course “Stepping Stones to Speaking Success” which is targeted to relatively new speakers (or those who are absolute beginners).
If you’ve not been following closely that’s ok, but when the door opens on Tuesday 6/16, we’re going to be offering some really sweet bonuses for those who order quickly.
In the mean time, let me answer a few of the many questions that started rolling in late last week when the report went live…
Q – How do I choose the right topic?
A – In my opinion, you MUST speak from your true passions. The best way to do that is to ask yourself this question. “What am I totally passionate about, what do I know more about than anyone or what can I do better than anyone else?” When you get clear with yourself about the answer to this question, a little research will tell you whether this is a viable market with issues that need solved.
Q – What’s the best way to research my passions/gifts/skills to see if I can make money as a speaker on this topic?
A – I actually did a short video on the easiest way to do this research. If you did not see it or need a refresher, go here and watch.
Q – How do I create products that my market will buy?
A – I actually address this in depth in the Stepping Stones to Speaking Success program which launches on Tuesday at noon, but the short answer is that you’ll want to survey your market, find out what their biggest issues are or what they most want to learn, and then give it to them. Once you know “what”, the how is easy. A simple digital recorder is all you need to create audio programs and a camcorder (or even digital camera with video) makes it easy to create video programs. If the programs solve problems for your market and they are fairly priced, people will buy.
Q – I’m a new speaker. Where do I start?
A – This question was the second most asked question, and we partly answered it by saying that you need to pick a topic (based on your passions, skills or natural talents), you’ll need to research your market to find out their needs, you’ll need to create products to solve their issues and then you’ll use the magic of the Internet to attract people to you so you can teach them your information. To begin speaking live, you’ll need to write a talk and market yourself locally to gain some experience. The cool part is that as you attract a larger and larger audience, you’ll also attract more speaking engagements. The bigger the following you have the less you’ll be asked to negotiate your fees.
Q – I do some speaking on a local level now but most of the talks don’t pay anything; how can I make money doing free talks?
A – There are several ways to monetize a free talk. In fact I have three ways to make money from a free talk on the Stepping Stones to Speaking Success program which launches on Tuesday.
Q – If I invested in this program, what will I get?
A – The program itself consists of a 90 minute audio and 25 page workbook. However, if you invest during this special program launch, there are significant bonuses worth far more than the program itself. Some of the things I covered in the course include:
- An overview of the public speaking industry
- How to best position yourself for immediate success
- How to become known as a expert in your niche market
- Creating your first product in 2 hours or less
- How to quickly, easily and affordably create a bundle of products
- Marketing yourself as a new speaker
- How to earn a passive income, even when you’re sleeping
Now the bonuses that I’m offering include:
If you are one of the first 10 who order on Tuesday, I’ll work with you personally to create your first product, in which I’ll interview you on your topic and provide you the audio file. You’ll simply need to have the audio edited and develop some packaging for it. The value of this bonus is AT LEAST $500.
If you are one of the first 25 who orders, You’ll receive a PRIVATE 30 minute consultation call to layout a plan for your new speaking business. The value of this bonus is $175
If you are one of the first 75 who invest in the system, you’ll receive access to two question & answer calls, which are intended to help you implement what you’re learning. These calls will last as long as it takes to answer your questions and address your concerns. The value of these two calls is at least $375.
The total value of the bonuses included for early movers on my Stepping Stones to Speaking Success system is at least $1050.
Q – I’m on a tight budget – how much is your program going to cost?
A – This was most asked question by far. With the economy being what it is and speaking engagements being significantly reduced as a result we’ve made the decision to make this program totally affordable to anyone who wants it. I could easily justify a $497 investment before adding all of these bonuses but to help speakers to access this info and help them improve on their marketing skills, we’re going to offer the program for only $79. I know that is so low that you might think there is no way it could teach anything, but then you’d have to know that my passion is to serve speakers and help them get their God-given message to a world wide audience. If I priced it out of reach for most speakers, then I would be able to fulfill my goals either. So get it now – and order quickly so that you can grab one or more of those valuable bonuses…
